About IHADAGREATVIEW
What started out as a regular old photoblog has morphed into an experiment in photo blogging. I've been putting all of my photos on flickr, and it suits me just well. However, I've left this space to virtually rot, until now. While editing a photo in a hex editor, I discovered that accidently changing a value could result in some twisted, albeit interesting artifacts.
This is due to the way graphics are saved. Mathematicians have created algorithms for saving images which involves compression, a way to take lots of data and make it smaller without losing (or losing as little possible) the original information. This works rather well, especially in digital images because so much of the information is repetitive. Anyway, changing a small portion of the data results in an entirely different deconstruction process, the result of some of the images now on the site.
